AWO-OMAMMA MEDICAL VISITATION 2019

Awo-Omamma Visitation – August 2019

Free August Medical Diagnosis and Treatment (FAMDAT) is an annual health program of Dr Chuka Amukamara, used in celebrating his birthday August 7th, to support women of Awo-omamma who travel home every August for their annual August meeting. During this program, women who gathered for their meeting are screened and treated of their medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, peptic ulcer disease and malaria.
It was established since 2018 using Health Medium International (HMI) and repeated in 2019 in collaboration with Friends-In-Need Foundation.

During the 2019 FAMDAT, about 2000 women received medical interventions; resolving notable cases of hypertensive emergencies, progressive heart diseases, diabetes, poor adherence to prescribed medicines, medication errors and more. There is usually a three-month follow up on the encountered patients while those with critical cases receive further care from an affiliate hospital (Greenland Hospitals).
