Track Record

At Friends-In-Need Foundation, we take our activities in tranches, addressing particular issues as the needs arise.

ACTIVITIES TRAIL

In reporting our past activities, we try to respect our beneficiaries’ privacy. As such, as much as possible, names of individual beneficiaries will not be mentioned. However, legitimate need for verification will be fully assisted to that effect.

Scholarships
This is a special area of concern to the Foundation. The desire to drive away ignorance from our children and youth is part of our Chairman and Founder of Friends-In-Need Foundation. Over many years, even before the formation of the Foundation, many children and youth from less-privileged homes have received secondary school and/or university scholarships from him, an action of love that was eventually taken over by the Foundation. In other cases, assistance has been given to some students in tertiary institutions to meet up with their school fees. Such benevolence was also extended to some Priests in Formation in the Catholic Church.

School Dormitory Project
Creating a safe and enabling environment for our children and youth to study is one of our concerns. We have made contributions to support the infrastructure in one of our secondary schools. In April 2014, a block of School dormitory which was renovated in Aquinas Secondary School, Osu, in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria – a school belonging to the Catholic Church – was commissioned by the Catholic Bishop of Okigwe Diocese, the School Proprietor.

Healthcare Support
We were involved in alleviating some cases of medical challenges to some individuals. Varying amounts of money have been spent to help some needy individuals, ranging from paying paltry hospital bills to procurement of eye glasses and partial sponsorship of major surgical operations.

In other aspects, we use any available opportunity to give talks on some health and social issues we have some knowledge of to enlighten the village people. This is because very many of our people are suffering in ignorance. People sometimes have to be educated on some of the things we take for granted, e.g., basic hygiene, first aid, suspicious beliefs and fears based on ignorance and some aspects of inter-personal relations.

Housing Assistance

The Friends-In-Need Foundation has contributed to the housing of a few persons who were financially handicapped at their times of desperate need. We assisted to ensure that those people had roofs over their heads. Among these are widows and some families who were financially handicapped,

Enlightenment Programs
It is a very important role for the Friends-In-Need Foundation to educate our children and youth on the importance of Health, Safety and the Environment. In addition, we take steps to guide our children and youth to understand the educational path to their future careers.

Getting our children and youth to understand the implications of what we do that affect our Health, Safety and the Environment early enough in their lives will go a long way in framing their attitudes to life and what they do as leaders of tomorrow. As such, our campaigns will not just stop at the Outcast System Elimination Project; we will push for the enlightenment of our children and youth on those other directions which we consider vital to the well-being of the society.

We also plan to embark on a sort of guidance of the children and youth to enlighten them early enough in life on what leads to what in the course of life development. Letting our children and youth know well in advance that certain attitudes will make or mare one’s future, especially when shown the opportunities before them, will be a big boost to good character molding in them.

In some other times, our assistance had been in the form of advice in areas where we are knowledgeable enough which formed part of our valued contributions to a safe, healthy and progressive society. We support other Charities where we can
